Césão - A music project by César Macedo

Originally from Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil, Césão brings together music, filmmaking and storytelling. A songwriter since his teens, he began his artistic journey in reggae bands before expanding into film, advertising and academic research. In 2011, he lived in Los Angeles, where he studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy.

In the years that followed, he built an established career in Brazil’s audiovisual industry, working on projects for some of the country’s leading agencies and brands while continuing to use music as a space for creativity and experimentation. He holds a master’s degree in Art, Culture and Languages from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. His work explores the relationship between image, sound and narrative—a connection that has become central to his creative identity, shaping both his filmmaking and his music.

In 2024, he released “Menina,” his debut single on streaming platforms. Now based in Miami, Césão is developing new songs inspired by journeys, encounters and change. Drawing on memories, emotions and landscapes from different chapters of his life, his songs blend Brazilian music, reggae and contemporary pop, exploring lived experience, reflection and new beginnings.
